Life in Reudnitz + Open Stage at Mühlkeller e.V.

I have been living in Reudnitz for 2 months now. It is full of inspiration. I have already written 2 songs at least and a couple of poems. And I know there is more to come. Also, I can’t really wait to explore all of the tiny stores around here. The other week I discovered a delicious pizza place. They bake them in their stone oven and sell them for 3.50€. A M A Z I NG. In general, this area is really authentic. The people living make it that way. Reudnitz is a large district of Leipzig. It has really become an epicenter for students in the most recent years. As a result, a lot of hipster cafés and bars have been starting to emerge. Yet, the stores that I am talking about are traditional stores that have been around for decades. I can’t wait for exams to be over.
Almost every day I pass the Sternburg brewery one my way to Uni. One day I noticed that I often see a couple of youth hanging out around a house right on the other side of the brewery. Another day (when there wasn’t anybody lingering) I stopped and found out it was a “soziokulturelles Zentrum” (social cultural center) and that they actually have a program for each month. That’s when I read about their open stage nights. I instantly signed up when I was home.
So Thursday was kind of my Reudnitz premiere. I not only played here for the first time, but I also played my two latest songs. And they were “born” in Reudnitz. So kind of original.
Great thanks to the person who took a video of it all. I spent the last few hours cutting it and uploading the two videos to YouTube. Maybe a teaser for what’s to come this summer.

Also great thanks to Mühlstraße e.V. for hosting this event. I will be back for sure!
